First stop was HIRAJUKU, where we wandered down busy streets and crowded laneways with many thousands of others. Bec scored a few bargains and we found our way back to the train station carrying extra bags of goodies.
Next it was SHIBUYA. More people and more shops! Amazing department stores over many floors with people everywhere.
A glass lift took us to the 6th and 7th floor - two floors of restaurants for us to choose from for lunch.
The food was interesting, with delicacies like minced pork intestines and pigs' feet along with other dubious dishes. We were lucky to see the menu in English before ordering!
Back on the train again to head for UENO, where there is a market atmosphere in the narrow streets and laneways that are lined with stalls and shops.
Laden with bags it was time to head back to Shinjuku on the train. Bec is feeling like a local now - she can even ride the train without hanging on!
It's so much easier to negotiate the train and subway lines now!
While at Ueno we visited the JR Travel Office and booked our seats on the train to Mount Fuji tomorrow.
It's an early departure, for a 2 1/2 hour trip!
Everything is running smoothly so far. Bec's bought a mountain of bargains and it's only been a couple of days!
